Blood of a Poet

from A Forest Grew by Cabinet of Living Cinema

/

about

The title of this track is from surrealist Jean Cocteau's film which features in our Mary Shelley's Future Shocks graphic novel animation. In one of the most compelling sequences of surrealist cinema, the protagonist examines a mirror, splashes into its watery depths before swimming through darkness. This seemed to obliquely mirror Frankenstein creature's journey and that of humanity journeying into an unknown bio-technical future, as explored by Yuval Harari in Homo Deus (the book was quoted in Mary Shelley's Future Shocks with kind permission of Dr. Harari).
