Boym is from Theatre of the Wandering West - our graphic novel animation about Kieron Chissik's ancestor, Yiddish theatre actress Millie and Kafka's infatuation for her recorded in his Prague diaries (1911). The piece finally follows Millie to Whitechapel where, during the Blitz, she learns about Kafka's fate in Berlin in 1924.Boym marks the joyful opening of the piece in which we see Millie and Emanuel elope and Millie joins the nascent Yiddish theatre, escaping shtetl life. Lyrics by father of 20th century Yiddish poetry, Itzik Manger.

Three toward the west,
Three toward the east,
And the rest toward the south,
And the tree is left alone astray, in front the storm.
I'll sit in the tree and comfort it through winter
With a lovely tune.
